The historic decision of Superior Justice Tribunal to release the plantation of marihuana for medicinal use comes at a time when Brazilian investors, who invest in funds that buy shares of cannabis companies abroad, are questioning whether they have made a good deal. Cannabis funds in Brazil, managed by Vitreo and XP, suffer losses of almost 70% in 12 months. In the year, it already exceeds 50%. the head of investments of Vitreo funds, Jojo Wachsmann, guarantees that the investment thesis has not changed, on the contrary, it has only improved, with more US states allowing the use of marijuana. If in Brazil the Justice still decides whether marijuana can be planted for medical use, in the United States, it has already been legalized in much of the country. Perhaps the timing of launching the funds was not the best. But whoever wants to get in now, according to Wachsmann, could be buying cheap. Anyway, the market is not very good at forecasting.
