The Santa Cannabis patients’ association decided to use crowdfunding to continue providing free care to patients who cannot pay for treatments with the herb’s derivatives. The NGO, which is based in the capital of Santa Catarina, has just created the Apoiador Anjo project, which offers prizes and discounts on products related to the plant for those who contribute. With R$ 18 per month, the “angel” can enjoy all the benefits, without limits, during the entire period in which he remains a supporter of the entity. Rewards include discounts on books, travel packages to Uruguay, where cannabis is legal, and courses related to the topic, among others. To contribute, just access the link: support.se/santacannabis.
According to the president of Santa Cannabis, Pedro Sabaciauskis, the project already has 30 benefits, but the idea is to add new partners to the project, whose main objective is to offer treatment to needy families. “We offer giveaways and discount coupons of up to 60% at grow stores, on our own cultivation course, on postgraduate medical cannabis, on books about the plant, cannabis fashion, tobacconists and head shops. It is our way of repaying those who help us to maintain the treatment of our social patients”, he explains.
Undoubtedly, this is an innovative initiative in the sector and one that should attract many interested parties. This blog warns, however, that cultivating cannabis without legal authorization in Brazil is a crime subject to prison sentences for drug trafficking.
